Salem Media Group, a talk radio network, has issued a public apology and pledged to cease distribution of a discredited election conspiracy theory film. The decision came after a Georgia man, who was wrongly accused of voter fraud, sued the company for defamation. The film, titled ‘2000 Mules,’ was promoted by Donald Trump and widely shared on right-wing media platforms. The plaintiff claimed that the film, filled with baseless claims about the 2020 election, resulted in threats against him and his family. As part of the settlement, Salem removed the film from their platforms and expressed remorse for the harm caused. This incident adds to the list of right-wing media companies facing lawsuits related to the dissemination of false information about the 2020 election.
